As a first time traveler to Japan I was lucky enough to have an amazing guide. Hisa Matsuo was incredible. I met up with him in Takayama. He was so knowledgeable about the history and customs of the area. He was fun and energetic and made the time spent interesting and fun. His English was excellent and I would highly recommend him.

My friend Karen and I spent a wonderful day in September 2019 with Hisa Matsuo exploring the historic towns of Takayama and Shirakawago.  Hisa made contact with us the evening prior to our day tour, to confirm meeting times and place. This attention to detail was appreciated by us both, and continued throughout the following day. Karen and I are both experienced tour guides in our own respective countries (Canada & New Zealand), and we know what it takes to be an effective guide.  Hisa was very personable, informative, fun and organized.
